List of Options

The following options are displayed.

Preview

Any changes in a texture are reflected in the interactive swatch preview right away. You can enlarge or reduce the size of the preview area.

Apprearance

The Appearance settings are only available for procedural-based textures. The editing controls vary by texture type.

Transforms

Controls the three standard transformations (position, scale, and repeat) used in various texture sockets.

Link Texture Transforms

Allows all changes made to the Position, Scale, and Repeat settings of this attribute to be propagated to all other attributes within the material that use a texture.

Position

Controls the coordinates and rotation of the material on a swatch.

  • Offset. Moves the starting point of the map along the X or Y axis.
  • Rotation. Rotates the map from 180 degrees -180 degrees.
Scale

Controls the scaling of the procedural maps on materials.

  • Sample Size. Specifies the vertical or horizontal scaling for procedural maps on materials. This setting is only available on Checker, Gradient, and Tiles.
  • Scale to Fit. Positions the texture relative to the object.
Repeat

Controls the creation and modification of a map pattern.

  • Horizontal. Adjusts the tiling of the map along the X axis.
  • Vertical. Adjusts the tiling of the map along the Y axis.

Tile causes the map to be tiled within the material. Mirror causes the map to be tiled, but each tile is a mirror of the adjacent one. None specifies no modifications to the map pattern.
